Sierra
This dive site is a 1970s iron ore cargo tower, located close to the fishing port of Marbella. The dive site covers an area approximately 100m to 250m off the shoreline, and consists of 2 towers.
Divers rarely visit the closest tower, which is approximately 100m from the shoreline, even though a variety of interesting marine life thrives on its walls.
Sierra is a popular location for diving, located approximately 6km west of Estepona in the direction of Gibraltar. The site receives regular visits from day excursion divers, and is reached by boat. The depth ranges from 15-20m and has impressive surroundings dominated by huge rocks ranging as high as 8-10m.
Deep Valleys, overhanging rocks and swim throughs all help divers to interact with the surroundings and experience a truly memorable dive. A variety of marine life is resident to the area, with the rocks covered in a rainbow of differing sponges, hydroids and sea squirts. Orange coral is constantly evident, as well as sea fans and sea fingers. The site also plays residence to large, spider crabs, a vats number of sea slug species, green bonellia and many others too numerous to mention!
